Carved Stone Ashtray

This ashtray is carved in steatite, a soft stone which when polished looks like marble.
The patterns are typical of the stonework of northern India and particularly of the Varanasi region (formerly Benares in Uttar Pradesh).

The colours vary from grey to pink depending on the model and unfortunately it is not possible to choose the colour.
