Palo Santo Resin from Peru

Everyone is familiar with Palo Santo logs, a fragrant wood native to South America, Peru and Ecuador, used to perfume or purify the home.
Resin from this tree is a much rarer product. It is a mixture of pieces and fragments, grey in colour, sometimes yellow, as well as powder. Like the wood, the resin gives off the same characteristic aniseed odour.

When fumigated, the scent is not far removed from copal, and there are even a few resinous notes reminiscent of certain types of frankincense.
