Stupa Incense – Handmade Nepalese Incense from the Kathmandu Valley (13)
Stupa Incense has been crafting handmade Nepalese incense in the Kathmandu Valley for over twenty years — blending Himalayan medicinal herbs, resin incense and aromatic woods into slow-burning compositions rooted in Tibetan and Nepalese spiritual tradition.
Nepalese incense – rope incense, Tibetan sticks and natural resins
The workshop brings together two distinct forms of Himalayan incense craft:
Rope Incense – Nepalese handrolled incense cords – The house speciality. Aromatic powders of Himalayan herbs, woods and spices are wrapped in handmade Lokta paper and hand-twisted into cords. Available in Juniper, Cedar, Sandalwood, Himalayan Herbs and Seven Chakra – each variety a complete sensory experience in its own right.
Tibetan incense sticks – Thick, traditionally crafted sticks made from medicinal plants, resin incense and aromatic woods, with no synthetic fragrances. Their character is herbaceous, woody and gently resinous – true to the monastic style of the Himalayan highlands.
Natural fragrance incense – A more accessible line, still entirely natural: Sandalwood, Cedar, Juniper, floral blends and Himalayan herb mixes suited to everyday meditation and relaxation.
Holders and accessories – Handcrafted incense holders designed specifically for Nepalese rope incense and Tibetan sticks.
How to use incense – a ritual for meditation and wellbeing
Light one end of the rope incense, gently blow out the flame, and rest it on a heat-resistant holder where it will slowly release its fragrance. Tibetan incense sticks are used in exactly the same way. Both are well suited to morning meditation, a yoga session or a mindful evening pause — light ventilation helps the scent settle gently through the room.
Whether as a considered gift or a quiet ritual for yourself, Stupa Incense brings the calm of the Himalayas into your everyday space.
