Kunjudo Washi Incense – Japanese Paper Incense in 5 Fragrances (6)
Kunjudo Washi Incense reimagines Japanese incense as thin strips of handcrafted washi paper, each infused with a carefully composed fragrance that burns for around five minutes and produces very little smoke – a quiet, considered alternative to traditional incense sticks, well suited to modern homes, offices and anyone who finds classic Japanese incense too strong.
Five fragrances – washi paper incense for meditation and wellbeing
Each box holds 30 strips and a small metal clip to hold the incense while it burns. The strips can also be placed unlit in a drawer, between book pages or in a bag, where they release their fragrance gently for weeks:
No. 1 – Floral Warmth – jasmine, rose, sandalwood and vanilla. The most accessible fragrance in the range, light and cheerful, a welcoming introduction to washi incense.
No. 2 – Elegant Agarwood – agarwood, patchouli, Frankincense, vetiver and vanilla create a refined woody-resinous incense, the most authentically Japanese composition of the five.
No. 3 – Deep Citrus – bergamot, clove and amber over a woody base. Fresh but rounded, less sharp than many Japanese citrus incenses.
No. 4 – Mellow Grove – sandalwood, cedarwood, eucalyptus and amber build a calm, forest-like atmosphere suited to meditation and quiet moments.
No. 5 – Smoky Comfort – cinnamon, clove, Frankincense, Ryunou (Borneo camphor), and amber produce a warm, spiced and gently ceremonial incense, the closest of the five to traditional Japanese temple fragrance.
How to use Washi Incense – a simple ritual for everyday life
Clip one strip into the metal holder, light the tip briefly until an ember forms, then blow out the flame – the paper burns for about five minutes, scenting the room with a soft, restrained fragrance. Used unlit, strips tuck easily into a drawer or bag and release their scent quietly for several weeks.
Compact, beautifully packaged and available in five fragrances, Kunjudo Washi Incense works equally well as a personal daily ritual or a thoughtful gift.
