Frankincense to Burn – Natural Resin Incense from Oman, Somalia, Ethiopia and India (29)

Frankincense – also known as Olibanum – is one of the oldest resin incenses in the world: hand-harvested from the bark of trees in the Burseraceae family, pure and natural, and as present as ever in today's practices of purification, meditation and wellbeing.

Frankincense from Oman, Somalia, Ethiopia and India

Each origin has its own distinct character. The collection offers natural resin incense from four major harvesting regions:

  • Oman – Superior and Royal HojariBoswellia sacra from the Dhofar region, recognised worldwide for its refinement and purity. A Frankincense reserved for special moments and deep meditation.
  • Somalia and Aden – high-quality resin incense from Boswellia carterii, deep and balsamic in character. One of the most widely used resins in fumigation traditions across the world.
  • Ethiopia – classic first-choice Olibanum from Boswellia papyrifera. Warm, accessible and versatile – well suited to daily use, purification rituals and everyday wellbeing practices.
  • India – Indian Frankincense from Boswellia serrata, present for centuries in spiritual and Ayurvedic traditions. A soft, earthy resin with its own quiet warmth.

How to use Frankincense – for purification, meditation and wellbeing

Frankincense is not self-combustible and requires an external heat source. Classic method: light a charcoal tablet in a heat-resistant bowl, wait until it glows evenly, then place a small amount of resin on top – the fragrance releases immediately. For a gentler diffusion, the resin can also be warmed slowly over a tea light in a suitable resin burner, allowing the scent to unfold gradually.

Frankincense makes a timeless, meaningful gift for anyone drawn to the purity of natural aromas, purification and stillness.
