The Ispalla Palo Santo & Myrrh Incense Sticks combine genuine Palo Santo wood (Bursera graveolens) with myrrh. They are handmade in Peru and belong to an Ispalla series in which Palo Santo is paired with another aromatic plant or resin.
According to the manufacturer, the Palo Santo used for these incense sticks comes from wood that has fallen naturally to the ground. No trees are therefore cut down for their production. The manufacturer also states that the product has official certification from the Peruvian authorities relating to the sustainable use of natural Palo Santo populations.
The fragrance of Palo Santo and myrrh
In this variety, the warm, woody and slightly balsamic character of Palo Santo meets the deeper, resinous and spicy notes of myrrh. This gives the fragrance a fuller and more intense character than the pure Palo Santo incense sticks, while the distinctive aroma of the South American wood remains clearly at the heart of the composition.
Myrrh is one of the oldest known incense resins and has been used for burning as incense in various cultures for thousands of years. Combined with Palo Santo, it brings together two traditional aromatic materials from different regions of the world.
Handmade in Peru
Each incense stick is hand-rolled in Peru. One pack contains 10 incense sticks, each with a burning time of approximately 30 min.
How to use
Light the tip of the incense stick and allow it to burn briefly. Then gently blow out the flame and place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder. As the stick burns, the combined fragrance of Palo Santo and myrrh gradually spreads through the room.
