Zuiun by Nippon Kodo is an elegant Japanese incense with agarwood, sandalwood and benzoin. The name Zuiun can be interpreted as “cloud of good fortune”, reflecting the calm, understated character of this fragrance composition.
At the heart of the composition is agarwood (aloeswood) with its deep, rounded woody note. Sandalwood and benzoin complement the composition with warm and balsamic facets, while a floral-balsamic note adds further refinement to the fragrance. The result is a subtle, complex woody fragrance that does not rely on immediate intensity, but gradually unfolds as the incense burns.
Fragrance Profile
Zuiun is woody, warm and balsamic with a subtle floral nuance. The way the fragrance develops is particularly characteristic: the woody base gradually gains depth, its calm progression evoking a walk that leads ever deeper into a forest. Even after the incense has finished burning, a delicate woody fragrance remains perceptible for some time.
