Shoyeido Overtones Palo Santo is a Japanese incense that interprets the distinctive character of Palo Santo in a refined, balanced fragrance composition. Shoyeido's Overtones range places a particular aromatic ingredient at the heart of each fragrance, translating its character into the subtle style of Japanese incense sticks.
The composition combines Palo Santo with cinnamon, benzoin and spices. The fragrance is warm, woody and slightly balsamic, with gentle spicy notes and a subtly sweet depth. Compared with burning Palo Santo wood directly, the fragrance is presented here in a more refined and controlled way within a Japanese incense composition.
Palo Santo in the Overtones Range
Shoyeido expressly describes Overtones Palo Santo as an interpretation of Palo Santo in the house's subtle style. Within the range, the emphasis is therefore less on the raw intensity of the wood and more on a harmoniously balanced fragrance composition in which the characteristic Palo Santo note remains clearly recognisable.
Overtones Palo Santo is part of a range of seven fragrances: Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Frankincense, Tea Leaves, Palo Santo and Patchouli. Each variety highlights a different principal aromatic note while remaining true to the refined character of Japanese incense.
The incense sticks are made in Japan without synthetic fragrance oils, synthetic binders or artificial fragrances. Each pack contains 35 incense sticks measuring 22 cm in length. The burning time is approximately 50 minutes per stick.
