Excellent Houryu by Baieido is part of the high-quality Excellent series from this long-established Japanese incense manufacturer. Known in Japan as Tokusen, the series combines selected aromatic woods with classic fragrance ingredients. In Excellent Houryu, Vietnamese agarwood together with Indian sandalwood forms the heart of the composition.

Vietnamese agarwood with sandalwood and spices

Excellent Houryu combines agarwood from Vietnam and sandalwood from India with cassia, star anise, patchouli and clove, along with other aromatic ingredients. The combination of these two woods with traditional spices gives this Japanese incense a complex, woody and spicy character.

Rather than a single fragrance note, Houryu offers a multi-layered composition in which the aromatic woods are accompanied by warm and spicy nuances. The exact complete formula is not specified.

Excellent / Tokusen – aromatic woods from different origins
