Excellent Kokonoe by Baieido is a high-quality Japanese incense from the Excellent series, which is marketed in Japan under the name Tokusen. At the heart of this composition are Indonesian agarwood and Indian sandalwood, complemented by traditional aromatic ingredients such as cassia, star anise, patchouli and clove.
Within the Excellent series, Baieido offers several compositions based on selected aromatic woods. Excellent Kokonoe contains agarwood from Indonesia. This precious wood is combined with Indian sandalwood and a traditional blend of additional aromatic ingredients.
The fragrance is correspondingly complex: the characteristic woody foundation of agarwood and sandalwood blends with the warm, spicy and slightly sweet aromatic nuances of cassia, star anise, patchouli and clove. This is a complex traditional incense composition rather than an incense stick centred around a single dominant fragrance note.
The different incenses in this series provide an opportunity to discover various compositions featuring aromatic woods. While Excellent Kokonoe contains Indonesian agarwood, Baieido specifies Vietnamese agarwood for Excellent Houryu, Excellent Kunsho and Excellent Koh En.
Excellent Kohshiboku occupies a special position within the series and is classified by Baieido among its incenses containing Kyara. It combines high-quality Kyara with agarwood, sandalwood and other traditional aromatic ingredients.
