Baieido Sen Koh Cha (煎香茶) are Japanese incense sticks with a fresh, gentle green tea fragrance. A distinctive feature of this composition is the use of real green tea from the Japanese tea manufacturer ITO EN. The incense sticks are made in Japan by Baieido and are characterised by reduced smoke production. They are available in 10 g and 80 g packs.

Sen Koh Cha – The fragrance of Japanese green tea

The fragrance of Sen Koh Cha evokes the fresh, botanical notes of green tea. The composition has a mild, understated character and draws on a familiar aroma closely associated with Japanese tea culture.

Green tea, known in Japanese as Ryokucha (緑茶), has been part of everyday Japanese culture for centuries. Beyond its daily consumption, it also holds a special place in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Sen Koh Cha interprets this familiar fragrance as Japanese incense.

With real green tea from ITO EN

Baieido Sen Koh Cha contains genuine green tea from the Japanese tea manufacturer ITO EN, incorporated directly into the incense mixture. The green tea fragrance is therefore not merely an aromatic inspiration but is also associated with a confirmed ingredient in the formula.

The complete composition and the proportion of green tea used are not disclosed. The presence of real green tea therefore does not mean that the entire incense composition consists exclusively of natural ingredients.

Low-smoke Japanese incense sticks

Sen Koh Cha belongs to Baieido's range of low-smoke incense sticks. They produce less visible smoke when burning than conventional incense sticks. The term «Smokeless», sometimes used to describe this type of incense, does not mean that burning is completely smoke-free.

The original Japanese packaging features the inscription 緑茶の香りのお線香, indicating incense sticks with a green tea fragrance. Its green design, featuring a tea field motif, emphasises the connection with Japanese green tea.

To use, light the tip of an incense stick, gently blow out the flame and place the glowing stick in a suitable, heat-resistant incense holder. Even with low-smoke incense sticks, ensure adequate ventilation and never leave the glowing stick unattended.
