Brass Censer with Chains – 14 cm

This 14 cm high brass censer is a compact church censer for traditionally burning pure frankincense and frankincense blends over charcoal. The rounded vessel has a dome-shaped lid with decorative flower-shaped openings, as well as additional ventilation slots that allow the incense smoke to escape.

The censer is suspended from long chains and can be moved carefully during incense burning. This type of incense vessel is particularly associated with Christian and liturgical use, where frankincense is traditionally burned during services and ceremonies.

For burning frankincense over charcoal

A glowing charcoal tablet is placed inside the vessel and then sprinkled with a small amount of pure frankincense or a frankincense blend. The openings in the lid provide air circulation and allow the resulting frankincense smoke to escape from the closed censer.

Thanks to the chains, the censer can be held and gently swung to distribute the incense smoke throughout the room.

Instructions for safe use

The glowing charcoal can cause the censer to become very hot during use. Hold it by the chains provided and avoid direct contact with the heated vessel. Never leave glowing incense charcoal unattended.

After burning incense, the censer should preferably remain suspended from a stable hook or suitable support until both the charcoal and the vessel have completely cooled. If placed on a surface, the weight of the long chains may unbalance the censer and cause it to tip over.
