Byakudan Eiju by Nippon Kodo is a classic Japanese incense centred on the fragrance of sandalwood. “Byakudan” is the Japanese term for sandalwood, while “Eiju” can be interpreted as long life or longevity.
The sandalwood fragrance is soft, warm and pleasantly present. Compared with the more complex agarwood compositions in the Eiju range, Byakudan Eiju is deliberately more accessible and allows the familiar woody character of sandalwood to come clearly to the forefront. This makes the incense suitable for regular use as well as for quiet moments, meditation or simply as a subtle fragrance for the room.
A Classic of the Eiju Series
Byakudan Eiju is one of Nippon Kodo's well-known incenses and represents the sandalwood variety within the Eiju series. Alongside this version, the range also includes compositions with agarwood and selected agarwood, allowing different levels of classic Japanese woody fragrances to be explored within the same family.
Japanese Incense in Roll Format
Byakudan Eiju is part of Nippon Kodo's Tranquility series and is presented in a compact roll carefully wrapped in paper. The slim format is easy to store and transport.
Each roll contains 20 g, or approximately 50 incense sticks. The burning time is approximately 30 minutes per stick.
