Goloka Good Earth are Indian masala incense sticks with a fragrance inspired by agarwood. They come from Goloka in Bangalore and combine the characteristic full-bodied nature of a masala incense stick with a warm, woody and slightly resinous fragrance.
Agarwood, also widely known internationally as Oudh, is one of Asia’s most traditional aromatic materials. Its distinctive aroma is generally perceived as deep, warm and complex. With Goloka Good Earth, this woody fragrance is at the heart of the composition, giving the incense an earthy yet smooth character.
Fragrance profile
Warm, woody and slightly resinous, with a deep and pleasantly earthy note. The fragrance is stronger and darker than Goloka’s floral varieties and is particularly suited to those who enjoy classic woody and Oudh fragrances.
Agarwood in incense traditions
Agarwood has a long history in various Asian incense traditions and has been valued for centuries for its intense and complex fragrance. Incense with an Agarwood or Oudh character is traditionally used both for religious and meditative practices and for intentionally fragrancing indoor spaces.
