Kunjudo HA KO Black Relax – Japanese Incense Paper

Kunjudo HA KO Black Relax is a Japanese incense paper made from perfumed washi paper on Awaji Island. The finely embossed and carefully cut paper resembles a real leaf, with its detailed leaf veins and natural silhouette. HA KO can be burned as incense or used without burning as a decorative scented leaf.

HA KO is an original creation by Kunjudo and is produced using a patented manufacturing process. Its name combines the Japanese concepts of leaf and fragrance or incense. The HA KO Black line is distinguished by more contemporary, intense fragrance compositions and a high proportion of natural essential oils.

HA KO Black Relax – vetiver, Hiba cypress and bergamot

Relax combines vetiver, Hiba cypress and bergamot with additional fragrance notes. Vetiver gives the composition its earthy, woody character, while Hiba cypress emphasises the distinctly woody and aromatic side of the fragrance. Bergamot adds a fresher, citrus accent. The result is a complex, nature-inspired fragrance with earthy, woody and fresh facets.

The name Relax reflects the tranquil fragrance atmosphere that Kunjudo associates with this variation within the HA KO Black series. The original fragrance description evokes a walk through a misty forest, over damp fallen leaves and among trees and plants – a fitting image for the earthy, woody character of this composition.

Use as incense paper or a scented leaf

To burn as incense, light one end of the leaf and then blow out the flame. Place the smouldering leaf on a fireproof surface and allow it to burn slowly. The burning time is approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Do not leave unattended while smouldering.

HA KO can also be used without burning. The scented leaf can, for example, be placed inside a book or letter, or displayed as a small decorative fragrance object, where it gradually releases its perfume. The principle is somewhat reminiscent of Papier d’Arménie, but HA KO is a distinctive Japanese creation made from embossed washi paper in an artfully crafted leaf shape.
