Ispalla Palo Santo & Rue Incense Sticks – 10 Sticks

The Ispalla Palo Santo & Rue Incense Sticks combine genuine Palo Santo wood with rue. They are handmade in Peru and belong to the Ispalla series, in which Palo Santo is combined with various aromatic plants and resins.

According to the manufacturer, the Palo Santo used comes from wood that has fallen naturally to the ground. No trees are therefore cut down for their production. The manufacturer also states that the product has official certification from the Peruvian authorities relating to the sustainable use of natural Palo Santo populations.

Palo Santo and rue – an aromatic plant combination

Rue, also known in South America as Ruda, is an intensely aromatic plant. In this blend, its distinctly herbal, green and slightly bitter character complements the warm, woody and balsamic notes of Palo Santo. This gives the variety a character that differs significantly from the more resin-focused combinations in the series.

Both Palo Santo and rue are used in various incense traditions. Particularly in parts of Latin America, rue is associated with traditional cleansing and protection rituals. These meanings belong to the realm of traditional and spiritual practices and should not be understood as scientifically proven effects.

Handmade in Peru

Each incense stick is hand-rolled in Peru. One pack contains 10 incense sticks. The burning time is approximately 30 min per stick.

How to use

Light the tip of the incense stick and allow it to burn briefly. Then gently blow out the flame and place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder. As it burns, the warm woody notes of Palo Santo blend with the characteristic herbal fragrance of rue.
