Product description

Jinkoh Seiun by Nippon Kodo is a Japanese incense with an elegant, deep agarwood fragrance. It combines the characteristic fresh fragrance style of the well-known Seiun series with a richer, woody composition whose fragrance profile recalls the particularly refined facets of Kyara.

Agarwood with a fragrance character reminiscent of Kyara

Nippon Kodo identifies agarwood (Jinkoh) as the central fragrance note and describes Jinkoh Seiun as combining the elegant character of Kyara/agarwood with the freshness typical of Seiun. However, as the manufacturer does not specify any confirmed content of genuine Kyara in this product, Kyara is understood here as an olfactory reference rather than a confirmed ingredient.

The fragrance is woody and deep while remaining balanced, with the fresh quality characteristic of Seiun. This distinguishes Jinkoh Seiun from heavier agarwood compositions, combining a refined woody character with a comparatively clear fragrance profile.

Jinkoh, Kyara and Japanese incense culture

Jinkoh (沈香) is the Japanese term for resinous agarwood and is one of the most important aromatic woods in Japanese incense culture. Kyara traditionally refers to a particularly rare and highly prized quality within this aromatic world. In Jinkoh Seiun, the term is used to describe its refined fragrance character; the use of genuine Kyara in this product is not explicitly confirmed by the manufacturer.

Low smoke and no bamboo core

Jinkoh Seiun contains a higher proportion of charcoal than many other Nippon Kodo incense sticks. As a result, it produces very little smoke when burning, allowing the fragrance itself to be less overshadowed by combustion notes. These Japanese incense sticks have no bamboo core.

170 Japanese incense sticks

The box contains 170 incense sticks. Each stick burns for approximately 30 minutes. With its low smoke and woody fragrance, Jinkoh Seiun is suitable both for everyday home fragrance and for quiet moments, meditation, reading or listening to music.

To use, light the tip of an incense stick and then blow out the flame. Place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder and use it on a fire-resistant surface.
