Product description
Kohden Spicy Aloeswood by Nippon Kodo is a Japanese incense with a refined, fresh and spicy agarwood fragrance. At the heart of this variety is Tani agarwood from Indonesia, which gives Kohden Spicy Aloeswood its distinctive fragrance.
The incense sticks are made in Japan and belong to Nippon Kodo’s Kohden series. The elegant paulownia wood box is decorated with Karakusa, a traditional Japanese ornament featuring flowing leaves and scrolling vines. It contains 40 incense sticks without bamboo cores and a small ceramic holder.
Spicy fragrance with Tani agarwood from Indonesia
Spicy Aloeswood stands out within the Kohden series for its fresh and spicy agarwood character. Nippon Kodo uses Tani agarwood from Indonesia for this fragrance composition. Compared with the deliberately gentle Sweet Aloeswood, this variety has a distinctly spicier character.
The complete aromatic formula is not disclosed. Apart from the documented Tani agarwood, no additional ingredients or individual spice notes are therefore assumed to be part of the blend.
Kohden – fragrances along ancient trade routes
The name Kohden (香伝) reflects the idea of passing on fragrances: koh means “fragrance”, while den means “to convey” or “to pass on”. The series is inspired by aromatic materials and fragrances that were once transmitted along ancient trade routes between the Orient and Japan.
These Japanese incense sticks measure approximately 14 cm in length, have no bamboo core and burn for around 30 minutes. Combining Tani agarwood with a fresh, spicy fragrance profile, Spicy Aloeswood is particularly suited to enthusiasts of agarwood fragrances with a distinctive character.
