Product description
Kunjudo Furyu-Kajin Linden are Japanese incense sticks from the Furyu-Kajin (風流香人) series by the manufacturer Kunjudo. This distinctive fragrance collection is inspired by Japanese calligraphy and combines a fragrance note reminiscent of traditional Sumi ink with selected botanical aromas. The Linden (Bodaiju) variety is characterised by a slightly sweet, elegant fragrance.
Linden – A gentle fragrance with a distinctive ink note
The fragrance of Furyu-Kajin Linden is inspired by the soft, subtly sweet character of linden blossom. This is complemented by the series' characteristic Sumi note, reminiscent of the scent of traditional Japanese calligraphy ink.
The combination creates a subtle, predominantly floral fragrance composition with an unusual aromatic nuance. The linden blossom note lends it a gentle sweetness, while the Sumi-inspired fragrance adds a distinctive accent.
The names Linden and Sumi describe the fragrance character. They do not confirm the actual use of linden blossoms, linden extracts or Japanese ink.
Furyu-Kajin – Inspired by Japanese calligraphy
Japanese calligraphy, Shodō (書道), is a traditional art form in which characters are created using a brush and ink. The Sumi ink used is traditionally made from soot and a binding agent and has a characteristic odour.
With the Furyu-Kajin series, Kunjudo evokes this distinctive atmosphere. The fragrance compositions recall the combination of ink, paper and selected botanical fragrance notes. The understated packaging design, featuring Japanese characters and botanical motifs, also draws on this aesthetic tradition.
The designation Bodaiju (菩提樹) on the packaging is used here to indicate a linden fragrance. In Japanese, the term also has other botanical and cultural associations and therefore does not allow the plant species used to be identified with certainty.
Compact Japanese incense sticks
The Mini version offered here contains approximately 50 short incense sticks with a total weight of around 14 g. The sticks are approximately 9.5 cm long and have a burning time of around 20 minutes.
Furyu-Kajin Linden is made by the Japanese incense manufacturer Kunjudo, based on the island of Awaji. Unlike the manufacturer's particularly low-smoke Slim ranges, these incense sticks produce a normal amount of smoke.
