Kunjudo HA KO No. 5 Spicy Jasmine – Japanese Incense Paper

Kunjudo HA KO No. 5 Spicy Jasmine is a Japanese incense paper made from perfumed washi paper on Awaji Island. The finely embossed paper is cut into the realistic shape of a camphor tree leaf. Its leaf veins and contours are carefully defined, making each scented leaf a small decorative object in its own right.

HA KO is an original creation by Kunjudo and is produced using a patented manufacturing process. Its name combines the Japanese concepts of leaf and fragrance or incense. The different leaf shapes are part of the collection’s aesthetic design and do not necessarily correspond to the plant that inspires each fragrance.

HA KO No. 5 Spicy Jasmine – a spicy floral jasmine fragrance

No. 5 Spicy Jasmine combines the floral character of jasmine with a distinctly spicy dimension. Kunjudo describes the composition as spicy jasmine with an oriental fragrance character. This variation brings a floral accent to the classic white HA KO series, setting it clearly apart from the woody Sandalwood, Agarwood and Cedar fragrances, as well as the nature-inspired Moss composition.

Use as incense paper or a scented leaf

To burn as incense, light one end of the leaf and then blow out the flame. Place the smouldering leaf on a fireproof surface and allow it to burn slowly. The burning time is approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Do not leave unattended while smouldering.

HA KO can also be used without burning. The scented leaf can, for example, be placed inside a book or letter, or displayed as a decorative fragrance object, where it gradually releases its perfume. The principle is somewhat reminiscent of Papier d’Arménie, but HA KO is a distinctive Japanese creation made from embossed washi paper in an artfully crafted leaf shape.
