Kunjudo HA KO No. 8 White Floral – Japanese Incense Paper

Kunjudo HA KO No. 8 White Floral is a Japanese incense paper made from perfumed washi paper on Awaji Island. The finely embossed paper is cut into the realistic shape of a persimmon leaf. Its detailed leaf veins and natural silhouette give each scented leaf a particularly carefully crafted, decorative appearance.

HA KO is an original creation by Kunjudo and is produced using a patented manufacturing process. Its name combines the Japanese concepts of leaf and fragrance or incense. The different leaf shapes are part of the collection’s aesthetic design and do not necessarily correspond to the plants that inspire each fragrance.

HA KO No. 8 White Floral – a delicate floral fragrance

No. 8 White Floral has a sweet, delicate and pleasant floral fragrance. Unlike the woody, spicy or citrus variations of the classic HA KO series, this fragrance centres on a gentle floral composition. Kunjudo does not specify which individual flowers or aromatic ingredients are used to create it.

Burn as incense or use as a decorative scented leaf

To burn as incense, light one end of the leaf and then blow out the flame. Place the smouldering leaf on a fireproof surface and allow it to burn slowly. The burning time is approximately 5 to 7 minutes. Do not leave unattended while smouldering.

HA KO can also be used without burning. The scented leaf can, for example, be placed inside a book or letter, or displayed as a small decorative fragrance object, where it gradually releases its perfume. The principle is somewhat reminiscent of Papier d’Arménie, but HA KO is a distinctive Japanese creation made from embossed washi paper in an artfully crafted leaf shape.
