Karin Togetsu by Kunjudo is the floral variant of the Karin series. Its characteristic fragrance is reminiscent of Daphne (Daphne odora), known in Japan as Jinchōge (沈丁花). The sweet floral note gives this Japanese incense a soft and elegant character.

A floral fragrance within the Karin series

In Karin Togetsu, the fragrance of sandalwood takes a distinct step back in favour of the floral composition. Kunjudo describes the fragrance as sweet and elegant, deliberately contrasting it with incenses more strongly characterised by aromatic woods, herbs and traditional Japanese recipes. Togetsu is therefore particularly interesting for those looking for a floral and less classically woody incense fragrance.

Daphne odora – Jinchōge in Japan

The fragrance concept is inspired by the intensely fragrant Daphne flower. Kunjudo does not disclose the exact formula of the aromatic blend: the listed ingredients are Tabu bark powder, sandalwood and fragrances. The characteristic Daphne note is therefore created within the fragrance composition, whose individual components are not specified in further detail.

The meaning of the name Togetsu

Togetsu (渡月) can be translated approximately as "crossing the moon". The name recalls Togetsukyō in Arashiyama near Kyoto and evokes a motif of classical Japanese aesthetics that complements the elegant character of this Karin variant.

150 g large box

This large box contains 150 g of Karin Togetsu incense sticks with the same fragrance composition as the smaller versions. The sticks are approx. 13.5 cm long and have a burning time of approx. 25 minutes. Kunjudo describes the smoke level as normal.

To use, light the tip of an incense stick and then blow out the flame. Place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder and use it on a fire-resistant surface.
