Najel Loofah Glove – Plant-Based Exfoliating Mitt

The Najel Loofah Glove is an exfoliating mitt for body care, featuring one side made from natural loofah fibres and a textile backing. Made in Turkey, it is suitable for gentle mechanical exfoliation, particularly on rough areas of skin such as elbows and knees. Used with soap or shower gel, it helps cleanse the skin and leaves it feeling smoother.

Loofah – a plant-based sponge

Loofah is obtained from the fibrous interior of mature, dried fruits of a climbing plant belonging to the gourd family, particularly Luffa aegyptiaca. Once the flesh and seeds have been removed, a natural network of resilient plant fibres remains, which can be used as a sponge.

When dry, loofah fibres are relatively firm. On contact with water, they become softer and more flexible. Gentle circular movements help mechanically remove dead skin cells from the surface of the skin.

Two sides for body care

The Najel glove features an exfoliating side made from natural loofah fibres and a textile looped side composed of 93% polypropylene and 7% polyester. It also contains an additional non-woven layer made from polypropylene.

The glove therefore combines the natural fibre structure of the loofah plant with textile materials. Although the loofah side consists of plant fibres, the glove as a whole is neither entirely natural nor completely biodegradable.

How to use the exfoliating glove

Moisten the glove with water before use to soften the loofah fibres. Then massage damp skin using gentle circular movements. The glove can also be used with soap or shower gel if desired.

Using the glove once or twice a week is generally sufficient. It is particularly suitable for rougher areas of skin, such as elbows and knees. Avoid applying excessive pressure and do not use the glove on irritated or damaged skin.

Cleaning and storage

Rinse the glove thoroughly with clean water after each use and allow it to dry completely. Proper drying between uses is particularly important for natural plant-based sponge fibres.
