Ginger lily, known in German as Ingwerlilie, is an aromatic plant whose fragrance is often described as floral, warm and slightly spicy. Together with the additional spice notes, it creates a complex composition that brings together resinous, woody and gently sweet impressions.

The Japanese incense manufacturer Shoyeido has a history dating back to 1705. The Kyoto-based company is known for its expertise in traditional incense blends made from aromatic woods, resins, spices and other botanical fragrance ingredients.

With the Magnifiscents collection, Shoyeido developed a range of contemporary incense fragrances distinguished by their individual fragrance characters and symbolic names.

Within the historical Angelic family, Hope stands out particularly for its mild, balsamic and gently sweet character. Compared with Peace, which is more strongly characterised by myrrh and spicy woody notes, Hope places greater emphasis on the softer combination of frankincense and sweet fragrance nuances. Compared with Inspiration, with its aromatic, slightly camphoraceous accents, Hope has a less austere character.

A later commercial association links the fragrance name Hope with Obsidian – Hope. However, the version offered here comes from the earlier Magnifiscents collection. This does not imply that the different product generations share an identical formula.

Contents and use

The original pack contains 30 Japanese incense sticks measuring approximately 14 cm in length. The average burning time is around 30 minutes per stick.

The incense sticks have no bamboo core. To use, briefly light the tip, gently blow out the flame and place the glowing stick in a suitable, heat-resistant incense holder.

Ensure adequate ventilation while burning incense and never leave burning incense sticks unattended.
