Product description
This polished brass censer is a traditional incense vessel with chains, particularly associated with church and liturgical use. The openwork design of the lid allows the incense smoke to escape during use.
The censer itself is approximately 16 cm high. Including the chains and suspension, the total length is approximately 100 cm. The long chains allow the vessel to be held and moved during incense burning.
Burning incense with a censer
Traditionally, a censer is used with glowing incense charcoal, onto which small amounts of incense material are placed. This type of incense vessel is particularly well known from church use, where frankincense and other incense blends are burned during liturgical ceremonies.
The censer can be moved by its chains. The openings in the vessel and lid allow air to reach the glowing charcoal and the resulting incense smoke to escape.

Instructions for safe use
When burning incense with charcoal, the censer becomes very hot. During use, hold it only by the chains provided and avoid direct contact with the heated vessel.
After burning incense, the censer should be securely suspended until both the charcoal and the vessel have completely cooled. If it is placed on a surface with the long chains, their weight may cause the censer to tip over. Never leave glowing charcoal unattended.
