Product description
This 17 cm high censer made of polished brass is a traditional church censer for burning pure frankincense and frankincense blends over charcoal. The enclosed, bell-shaped design of the lid features decorative openings that allow the incense smoke to escape during use.
The censer is held and moved by long chains, as traditionally associated with Christian and liturgical use. Including the chains and suspension, the total length is approximately 100 cm.
For burning frankincense over incense charcoal
For use, a glowing charcoal tablet is placed inside the censer. Small amounts of pure frankincense or a frankincense blend can then be placed on the charcoal. The openings in the lid provide air circulation and allow the resulting frankincense smoke to escape.
The long chains allow the censer to be held and gently swung during incense burning. This traditional form of burning frankincense is particularly associated with church services and liturgical ceremonies.

Instructions for safe use
The glowing charcoal can cause the censer to become very hot. During use, hold it by the chains provided and do not touch the heated vessel directly. Never leave glowing incense charcoal unattended.
After burning incense, the censer should preferably remain suspended from a stable hook or suitable support until both the charcoal and the vessel have completely cooled. If placed on a surface, the weight of the long chains may unbalance the censer and cause it to tip over.
