Morning Star Frankincense by Nippon Kodo combines the traditional form of Japanese incense sticks with a fragrance composition inspired by the characteristic aroma of frankincense. The Morning Star series has been part of the Japanese incense manufacturer's range since the 1960s and is designed for easy, everyday incense burning.
The incense sticks are made in the Japanese style without a bamboo core. This means that no additional scent from a burning wooden stick is produced, allowing the fragrance composition itself to remain more prominent. They also produce less smoke than many incense sticks with a bamboo core.
Morning Star Frankincense fragrance
The Frankincense variant has a warm, resinous and slightly balsamic fragrance reminiscent of the characteristic scent of frankincense. It is a composed Japanese interpretation of the fragrance rather than the burning of pure frankincense resin. This makes the scent approachable and suitable both for quiet moments at home and as an accompaniment to meditation, yoga or prayer.
How to use and burn time
Light the tip of an incense stick and then carefully blow out the flame. The stick will continue to smoulder slowly and release its fragrance. The burn time is approximately 25 minutes per stick.
Morning Star Frankincense is available in packs of 50 or 200 incense sticks. Both sizes include a small ceramic holder, so the sticks can be used straight away.
