Product description

Goloka Nag Champa is one of the best-known varieties of Indian masala incense sticks. Hand-rolled around a bamboo core in Bangalore (Bengaluru), these sticks are particularly recognisable by their distinctive yellow-orange packaging. Their fragrance combines delicate floral notes with warm woody nuances, subtle resinous accents and a slightly earthy depth. The 250 g bulk pack provides a particularly generous supply of this classic Indian incense fragrance.

Fragrance profile – floral, warm and harmonious

Goloka Nag Champa has a soft, floral and pleasantly enveloping fragrance character. The floral notes evoke exotic flowers and release a gentle, slightly sweet warmth without becoming overpowering.

A creamy woody note reminiscent of sandalwood forms the foundation of the composition. Subtle resinous nuances and a slightly earthy undertone add further depth to the fragrance. The interplay of these elements creates a balanced incense fragrance in which the floral and woody facets blend harmoniously.

Within the Nag Champa fragrance family, Goloka is often perceived as slightly softer and rounder than the well-known Satya Nag Champa in its blue packaging. Both are distinctive interpretations of this popular Indian incense classic.

Pleasantly fragrant – even without lighting

One feature we particularly appreciate about Goloka Nag Champa is its clearly noticeable fragrance even before burning. In our own experience, the unburnt incense sticks release an exceptionally pleasant floral and woody aroma.

A pack with its inner bag opened can therefore release a subtle fragrance without being lit, for example in a wardrobe, on a piece of furniture in the hallway or in a car. The perceived fragrance intensity depends on the surroundings and how widely the packaging is opened. Even the large quantity of 250 g does not automatically mean a stronger fragrance release.

For this purpose, the incense sticks should remain in their packaging, without coming into direct contact with clothing, other textiles or delicate surfaces.

Goloka Seva Trust – Indian incense and social commitment

Behind the Goloka brand is the Goloka Seva Trust, a non-profit organisation based in Bangalore, India. Alongside the production of traditional incense sticks, the organisation is known for its social and charitable commitment.

The Goloka Seva Trust supports various charitable initiatives in India. Revenue from the sale of Goloka products helps finance these activities. In this way, the brand combines the Indian incense tradition with a social mission.

Nag Champa – a well-known Indian fragrance tradition

Nag Champa refers to a fragrance family particularly appreciated for its warm, floral and woody notes. These fragrance compositions are often associated with the aroma of champaca flowers and sandalwood. However, the actual formulas vary depending on the manufacturer.

Incense has been used in India for centuries during religious ceremonies, prayers and everyday domestic life. Nag Champa has also gained a large following outside India. Many people use this fragrance during meditation, yoga or simply to create a pleasant scent in their surroundings.

Goloka Nag Champa is a distinctive interpretation of this fragrance tradition. The floral, woody and resinous notes described here characterise its fragrance and do not constitute a complete list of the ingredients used.

250 g – the bulk pack for Goloka Nag Champa enthusiasts

This 250 g pack contains the classic Goloka Nag Champa fragrance, which is also available in smaller 15 g, 40 g and 100 g packs. It is particularly suitable for those who are already familiar with this fragrance and would like a larger supply for regular use.

The larger pack size does not mean a different fragrance formula or a higher fragrance concentration. These are the same traditional masala incense sticks in a more generous format.

To use, place an incense stick in a suitable holder, light the tip and then blow out the flame. The stick will continue to smoulder slowly, releasing its fragrance into the room. Always use on a fireproof surface, under supervision and with adequate ventilation.
