This natural frankincense comes from the Sultanate of Oman and is obtained from the resin of Boswellia sacra. This grade is characterised by clean granulation and smaller, irregular resin tears. The pieces are smaller than those found in more highly selected frankincense grades, but the characteristic fragrance of Omani frankincense is fully preserved.

Oman’s frankincense trees grow particularly in the southern region of Dhofar, where frankincense harvesting has a tradition dating back thousands of years. The resin forms after the bark of the tree is scored: the plant sap that emerges dries in the air and gradually forms the characteristic frankincense tears.
