Shoyeido Overtones Frankincense is a Japanese incense that places the characteristic fragrance of frankincense at the heart of its composition. Shoyeido's Overtones range interprets familiar aromatic materials in the form of finely balanced Japanese incense sticks, with each variety dedicated to a clearly recognisable principal note.
The composition combines sandalwood, frankincense resin, benzoin and spices. Frankincense shapes the fragrance with its resinous and balsamic character, while sandalwood provides a soft, woody foundation. Benzoin adds a warm, slightly sweet nuance, rounded out by the accompanying spices. The result is a balanced fragrance with resinous, woody and gently spicy facets.
Overtones Frankincense offers a different fragrance experience from the traditional burning of loose frankincense resin. Here, the characteristic resinous fragrance is combined with sandalwood, benzoin and spices to create a harmonious Japanese incense composition. This allows the familiar frankincense note to be experienced in a more refined and consistent form.
Frankincense is part of Shoyeido's Overtones range, in which a principal aromatic note is deliberately brought to the forefront in each variety. The range also includes Sandalwood, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Tea Leaves, Palo Santo and Patchouli, offering different interpretations of woods, resins, spices and other familiar fragrance notes.
The incense sticks are made in Japan. According to the available product information, no synthetic fragrance oils or other synthetic oils are used.
Each pack contains 35 incense sticks measuring 22 cm in length. The average burning time is approximately 50 minutes per stick.
