Papier d'Arménie Tradition – The Original Armenian Burning Paper

Papier d’Arménie Tradition is the classic and oldest version of the famous French scented paper. It has been made in Montrouge near Paris since 1885 and is distinguished by its unmistakable warm fragrance, whose characteristic base is benzoin resin.

The history of Papier d’Arménie goes back to Auguste Ponsot. During a journey to Armenia, he discovered the use of benzoin for fragrancing living spaces. After returning to France, he adapted this idea into a small scented paper – the origin of Papier d’Arménie Tradition.

The classic Papier d’Arménie fragrance

Tradition has a warm, sweet and balsamic fragrance with vanilla-like nuances reminiscent of oriental scent traditions. Benzoin gives this historic composition its unmistakable character.

As the paper slowly smoulders, it releases its fragrance into the room and is traditionally used to perfume indoor spaces and mask unpleasant odours, for example from cooking, tobacco or pets.

How to use

The booklet contains 12 sheets, each of which can be divided into three strips. Tear off one strip, fold it like an accordion and place it on a heat-resistant surface. Light the strip and then blow out the flame so that the paper slowly smoulders.

Papier d’Arménie Tradition can also be used without burning. Individual sheets or strips can, for example, be placed in wardrobes, drawers or other storage spaces, where they will gradually release their fragrance.

Directions for use

• One strip is sufficient per use.
• Ventilate regularly.
• Do not use more than 3 to 4 times per week.
• Do not leave burning unattended.
• Keep out of reach of children.
