Product description

Rosewood BIO by Damascena is a 100 % pure and natural essential oil with a slightly rosy, floral and spicy scent. It is extracted by steam distillation from the wood of Aniba rosaeodora. The current batch comes from Brazil; the oil is bottled by hand in Switzerland.

Rosewood from controlled organic wild harvesting

For this essential oil, Damascena uses wood sourced through controlled organic wild harvesting. The label on the supplied bottle confirms Brazil as the origin and bears CITES No. 845914. This number refers to the label of the current product.

The oil is extracted by steam distillation of the wood. According to the supplier, approximately 100 kg of wood is needed to produce 1 kg of essential oil. Linalool is among the constituents listed in the safety data sheet.

Scent profile of rosewood essential oil

The scent combines slightly rosy and floral facets with a spicy note. Its warm, delicate character adds a soft woody tone to fragrance compositions without overshadowing the floral side.
