Product description

Kokonoekoh by Baieido, also known as Byakudan Kokonoe Kō, is the sandalwood-focused composition in the Jinkoya Sakubei series. While the two higher-grade incenses in this range use agarwood, Indian sandalwood forms the aromatic woody base of Kokonoekoh.

Indian sandalwood with classic spices

The composition combines Indian sandalwood with cassia, star anise, patchouli, clove and other ingredients. This variant does not contain agarwood. Kokonoekoh therefore has a distinctive character within the Jinkoya Sakubei series and serves as the introduction to the range's three differently graded woody compositions.

Warm, woody and delicately spicy

Sandalwood gives Kokonoekoh a warm, soft and pleasantly woody base note. Cassia, star anise and clove contribute spicy and slightly sweet accents, while patchouli adds a subtle earthy facet. Compared with the two other Jinkoya Sakubei compositions, the focus here is not on the depth of agarwood but on the rounded character of sandalwood.

The Jinkoya Sakubei series by Baieido

The name Jinkoya Sakubei refers to the history of the long-established Japanese incense house Baieido. The series comprises three incense compositions with different approaches to classic aromatic woods. Kokonoekoh is the sandalwood variant, while the other two versions in the range contain agarwood.

50 g of Japanese incense sticks

One box contains 50 g, corresponding to approximately 150 incense sticks. The sticks are approximately 14 cm long and, as is customary with traditional Japanese incense sticks, have no bamboo core.

To use, light the tip of an incense stick and then blow out the flame. Place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder and use it on a fire-resistant surface.
