Product description

Saryane Aleppo Soap with 20% laurel berry oil is one of the more concentrated varieties of traditional Aleppo soap. Traditionally crafted in Syria, it combines a high proportion of olive oil with a generous amount of laurel berry oil.

Thanks to its higher laurel berry oil content, this soap is traditionally preferred by those looking for a more intensive Aleppo soap. At the same time, it remains true to its original recipe and contains no synthetic fragrances, colourants or other unnecessary additives.

Traditional craftsmanship

The soap is produced using a traditional method that has been passed down through generations. Olive oil is first saponified with water and soda over several days. The laurel berry oil is added only towards the end of the cooking process. While still warm, the soap is poured onto large surfaces, cut by hand into bars and stamped with the manufacturer's seal.

Each bar is then left to mature for six to twelve months in well-ventilated storage rooms. During this time, part of its moisture gradually evaporates, making the soap harder, longer-lasting and exceptionally durable. It also develops its characteristic golden-brown exterior, while the inside retains its natural olive-green colour.

20% laurel berry oil – a concentrated traditional formula

With 20% laurel berry oil, this Aleppo soap belongs to the more concentrated formulas that are highly appreciated within the traditional range. Compared with the 5% and 12% laurel berry oil varieties, it is primarily intended for those who deliberately prefer a higher laurel content.

Traditionally, this formula is often used for oilier or more demanding skin as well as a solid shampoo. It has also long been used for more heavily stressed scalps. These applications are based on the traditional use of Aleppo soap and do not constitute medical claims.

How to use

The soap is suitable for cleansing the face, hands and body, and can also be used as a solid shampoo. Owing to its higher laurel berry oil content, many users prefer to use it according to their individual skincare routine. After each use, the soap should be allowed to dry completely on a well-ventilated soap dish.

A clearly visible whitish film may occasionally appear on the surface of more concentrated Aleppo soaps. This natural excess of unsaponified ingredients is a characteristic feature of traditional production and is not a quality defect.
