Saryane Aleppo Soap is traditionally made in Syria and is considered one of the oldest natural soaps in the world. It is crafted primarily from high-quality olive oil, enriched with 5% laurel berry oil. This balanced formula makes it an especially mild soap for the daily cleansing of the face, hands and body.
Unlike many industrially produced soaps, traditional Aleppo soap contains no synthetic fragrances, colourants or other unnecessary additives. As it matures, it naturally develops its characteristic beige to golden-brown exterior, while the inside retains its natural olive-green colour.
The soap is produced using a time-honoured method that has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. Olive oil is slowly saponified with water and soda over several days. The valuable laurel berry oil is added only towards the end of the cooking process to help preserve its natural qualities.
While still warm, the soap mixture is poured onto large surfaces, cut by hand into rectangular bars and stamped with the manufacturer's seal. The bars are then left to mature for six to twelve months in well-ventilated drying rooms. During this time, the soap becomes harder, longer-lasting and particularly pleasant to use.
With 5% laurel berry oil, this Aleppo soap offers a particularly well-balanced formula. It is ideal for daily skincare and has traditionally been appreciated as a gentle choice for the whole family. A fine white film may occasionally appear on the surface. This is a natural characteristic of high-quality Aleppo soap and should not be regarded as a quality defect.
