Product description

Saryane's Aleppo soap with 55% laurel berry oil is among the most extraordinary traditional Aleppo soaps. With its very high content of laurel berry oil, it is one of the rarest handcrafted formulas and is aimed at lovers of authentic Aleppo soaps seeking an especially high laurel oil content.

Made in Syria according to centuries-old tradition, this natural soap consists exclusively of olive oil, laurel berry oil, water, and soda. It contains no synthetic fragrances, dyes, or other unnecessary additives, remaining true to the original formula of the classic Aleppo soap.

Traditional Syrian craftsmanship

Production follows a process handed down over centuries. First, olive oil is saponified for several days with water and soda. The laurel berry oil is added only towards the end of the boiling process. The still-warm soap mass is then poured out over large surfaces, cut by hand into individual pieces, and stamped with the maker's seal.

During a curing period of six to twelve months, the soap slowly dries out and develops its characteristic beige to golden-brown surface, while the inside retains its natural green colour. At the same time, it becomes harder, more economical to use, and particularly long-lasting.

55% laurel oil – an extraordinary Aleppo soap

With a content of 55% laurel berry oil, this Aleppo soap is among the most highly concentrated traditionally made variants. Such formulas are made far less often than the classic soaps with 5%, 12%, or 20% laurel oil, and appeal mainly to those who deliberately prefer an exceptionally high laurel content.

Traditionally, this soap is often used selectively for demanding skin as well as a solid shampoo. The properties attributed to it are based on the long-standing traditional use of Aleppo soap and are not to be understood as medical claims.

Use

The soap is suitable for cleansing the face, hands, body, and hair. Due to its exceptionally high laurel oil content, it is usually used selectively rather than as a classic everyday soap. After each use, it should be left to dry completely so that it retains its firmness and economy of use for as long as possible.

In Aleppo soaps with a very high laurel oil content, a pronounced whitish coating, small surface cracks, or a slightly crumbly texture are natural accompaniments of the curing process. These characteristics are considered a sign of traditional production and do not constitute a quality defect.
