Saryane Aleppo Soap with 55% laurel berry oil is one of the most exceptional traditional Aleppo soaps. With its remarkably high laurel berry oil content, it belongs to the rarest handcrafted formulas and is intended for those who appreciate authentic Aleppo soap with an exceptionally high concentration of laurel berry oil.
Traditionally made in Syria, this natural soap contains only olive oil, laurel berry oil, water and soda. It is free from synthetic fragrances, colourants and other unnecessary additives, remaining faithful to the original recipe of classic Aleppo soap.
The soap is produced using a traditional method that has been passed down for centuries. Olive oil is first saponified with water and soda over several days. The laurel berry oil is added only towards the end of the cooking process. While still warm, the soap is poured onto large surfaces, cut by hand into individual bars and stamped with the manufacturer's seal.
During a maturation period of six to twelve months, the soap slowly dries, developing its characteristic beige to golden-brown exterior while the inside retains its natural green colour. At the same time, it becomes harder, longer-lasting and exceptionally durable.
With 55% laurel berry oil, this Aleppo soap is one of the most highly concentrated traditionally made varieties. Formulas of this kind are produced far less frequently than the classic 5%, 12% or 20% laurel berry oil soaps and are primarily intended for those who deliberately seek an exceptionally high laurel content.
Traditionally, this soap is often used for demanding skin as well as a solid shampoo. The properties traditionally attributed to it are based on the long-standing traditional use of Aleppo soap and should not be interpreted as medical claims.
The soap is suitable for cleansing the face, hands, body and hair. Owing to its exceptionally high laurel berry oil content, it is generally used for more targeted skincare rather than as an everyday soap. After each use, it should be allowed to dry completely to help preserve its firmness and ensure it lasts as long as possible.
With Aleppo soaps containing a very high proportion of laurel berry oil, a pronounced whitish coating, small surface cracks or a slightly crumbly texture are natural results of the maturation process. These characteristics are considered signs of traditional craftsmanship and are not quality defects.
