Satya Nag Champa by Shrinivas Sugandhalaya (BNG) is one of the best-known Indian incense sticks of all. The characteristic Nag Champa composition combines warm sandalwood notes with floral, slightly spicy and resinous nuances. This 15 g pack comes from Shrinivas Sugandhalaya (BNG) in Bangalore, India.
Nag Champa now refers to an entire family of Indian incense fragrances, but the Satya composition by Shrinivas Sugandhalaya played a major role in making this fragrance style internationally known. Its fragrance is warm, floral, soft and slightly spicy-resinous, supported by a woody sandalwood base. The champaka flower traditionally forms one of the characteristic floral notes of the composition.
The incense sticks are produced as Masala Agarbathi. In this traditional Indian manufacturing method, the aromatic ingredients are blended into a fragrant mixture and rolled around a bamboo stick. This distinguishes them from so-called dipped incense sticks, in which a pre-made stick is subsequently perfumed with a fragrance blend.
The history of Shrinivas Sugandhalaya dates back to 1964 and its founder, Shri K. N. Satyam Setty. One unusual aspect of his story is his anosmia: although he himself had no sense of smell, he devoted considerable attention to traditional Indian knowledge of fragrances and incense. Masala production became a defining characteristic of the company.
The name Nag Champa is also closely linked to the family's history. According to tradition, “Nag” derives from the name of his son Nagaraj, while “Champa” refers to the champaka flower associated with the fragrance profile of this incense blend.
Today, Satya Nag Champa is available in two official product lines. Following the division of the original company, Shrinivas Sugandhalaya (BNG) LLP in Bangalore and Shrinivas Sugandhalaya (MUM) LLP in Mumbai were established. Both offer Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa incense sticks and trace their history back to the original company.

Light the tip of the incense stick, allow it to burn briefly, then gently blow out the flame. Place it in a suitable incense holder and allow it to smoulder slowly. Use only on a heat-resistant surface and never leave burning incense unattended.
