Shoyeido Overtones Sandalwood is a Japanese incense that places the warm, soft character of sandalwood at the heart of its composition. As with all fragrances in the Overtones range, a familiar principal aromatic note is clearly highlighted and incorporated into a balanced Japanese incense composition.
The composition combines sandalwood with benzoin and spices. The fragrance is warm, balsamic and woody, with a gentle sweetness and spicy accents. Sandalwood provides the calm, soft foundation of the composition, while benzoin and spices add further depth and warmth.
Overtones Sandalwood is one of the seven fragrances in the range and highlights one of the most classic aromatic materials in Japanese incense culture. Alongside Sandalwood, the range includes Cinnamon, Vanilla, Frankincense, Tea Leaves, Palo Santo and Patchouli. Each variety has its own clearly recognisable fragrance identity while remaining true to Shoyeido's refined style.
According to Shoyeido, the Overtones Sandalwood formula is one of the house's older compositions. The incense sticks are made in Japan without synthetic fragrance oils, synthetic binders or artificial fragrances.
Each pack contains 35 incense sticks measuring 22 cm in length. The burning time is approximately 50 minutes per stick.
