Shivalingam in Stone
The lingam is a phallic symbol. It represents the god Shiva. It can be made of stone, wood, ivory, etc. It is found in Hindu temples where, during ceremonies (pujas), it is covered with offerings such as milk and ghee (clarified butter).
It is often associated with the Yoni, which represents feminine energy, the two together symbolising creative force.
The lingam is also a beautiful decorative object for non-Hindus.
This stone lingam measures approximately 14.5cm in length.
