This black soapstone incense bowl is made in India and is particularly suitable for traditional incense burning with charcoal. Its simple, round shape and black surface make it a versatile incense vessel for natural resins, plants, aromatic woods and incense blends.
The bowl measures approximately 10 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm in height. For incense burning, it is filled with a sufficient layer of fine incense sand. The sand provides a base for the glowing charcoal and protects the bottom of the bowl from direct heat.
Burning incense with sand and charcoal
Light a charcoal tablet and then place it on the incense sand. Once the charcoal is fully glowing and has reached the desired temperature, natural resins such as frankincense, myrrh or copal, as well as aromatic plants, fragrant woods or incense blends, can be placed on top.
After burning incense, allow the charcoal to burn out completely and cool down. The ash should only be disposed of once it has completely cooled.
