This blue soapstone incense bowl is made in India and is suitable as a compact incense vessel for use with sand and charcoal. The dark blue surface displays different nuances depending on the light and reveals the natural texture of the stone in places.
The bowl measures approximately 10 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm in height. For traditional charcoal incense burning, it is filled with fine incense sand. The previously lit charcoal tablet is then placed on top, allowing the sand to form an insulating layer between the charcoal and the bowl.
Burning natural resins and plants
Once the charcoal is fully glowing and has reached the desired temperature, small amounts of incense material can be placed on top. Suitable materials include frankincense, myrrh, copal and other natural resins, as well as aromatic plants, fragrant woods and incense blends.
After use, allow the charcoal tablet to burn out completely and cool down. Ash and residue should only be removed once they have completely cooled.
