This green soapstone incense bowl is made in India and is suitable for traditional incense burning with sand and charcoal. The dark green colouring features various natural nuances and highlights the simple, round shape of the bowl.
With a diameter of approximately 10 cm and a height of 3.5 cm, it provides enough space for a layer of fine incense sand and a charcoal tablet. The sand serves as an insulating layer between the glowing charcoal and the bottom of the soapstone bowl.
First fill the bowl with incense sand and place the previously lit charcoal tablet on top. Once the charcoal is fully glowing and has reached the desired temperature, small amounts of natural resins such as frankincense, myrrh or copal, as well as aromatic plants, fragrant woods and incense blends, can be placed on top.
After burning incense, allow the charcoal to burn out completely and cool down. Only remove the ash and residue once they have completely cooled.
When not being used for incense, the soapstone bowl can also serve as a small decorative bowl, for example for potpourri.
