The Xiang Do Incense Assortment by Shoyeido brings together twelve different fragrance compositions from the Japanese Xiang Do collection in a compact sampler pack. Made in Japan, the set contains 12 incense sticks in 12 different fragrances, together with a small round incense holder. It is particularly suitable for exploring the different Xiang Do fragrances and discovering personal favourites.

Each of the following fragrances is represented by one incense stick:

The fragrance names describe the respective olfactory characters. They do not necessarily mean that the corresponding plants, woods or resins are included as natural raw materials. The manufacturer does not disclose the exact formulas.

Xiang Do – a distinctive Japanese manufacturing technique

Shoyeido's Xiang Do collection differs from many traditional Japanese incense sticks through its special manufacturing process. While conventional Japanese incense sticks are generally shaped by extruding an aromatic mixture, Shoyeido uses a specially developed compression moulding process (圧縮成形, Asshuku Seikei) for Xiang Do.

During this process, the incense material is compressed in a mould. This produces short, compact incense sticks with a particularly smooth and uniform surface. This manufacturing method is a defining characteristic of the Xiang Do series.

A fragrance assortment to discover and compare

With twelve different fragrance compositions, the Xiang Do Incense Assortment allows a direct comparison of various fragrance families. Fresh and green notes sit alongside floral, fruity, spicy and woody creations. This makes it possible to explore the diversity of the collection before choosing a particular fragrance.

The incense sticks measure approximately 7 cm in length and have a burning time of around 20 minutes per stick. The included round incense holder completes this convenient set.

This assortment is an earlier selection featuring twelve different fragrances. It differs from the newer Xiang Do assortment containing 32 incense sticks in 16 fragrances.
