Product description

Tokusen Shukohkoku, also known as Excellent Shukohkoku, is the higher-grade version of Baieido's classic Shukohkoku. Both incenses are based on a related composition of agarwood, Indian sandalwood and spices. Tokusen Shukohkoku, however, uses higher-quality agarwood from Vietnam.

Vietnamese agarwood, sandalwood and spices

The composition combines Vietnamese agarwood with Indian sandalwood, cassia, star anise, patchouli and clove. Compared with classic Shukohkoku, the character of the high-quality agarwood is more prominent, giving the incense a deeper and more complex woody note. The warm sandalwood base is accompanied by spicy, slightly sweet and earthy accents.

Tokusen Shukohkoku and Shukohkoku

Those already familiar with the fragrance of classic Shukohkoku will find Tokusen Shukohkoku to be a more refined version of the same fragrance family. The main ingredients remain comparable, with the key difference being the higher quality of the Vietnamese agarwood used. Tokusen Shukohkoku is therefore particularly suited to enthusiasts of woody-spicy Japanese incense compositions looking for a higher-grade version within the Shukohkoku range.

Two pack sizes

The incense sticks are available in 6 g and 50 g boxes. The standard sticks are approximately 14 cm long and have a burning time of around 45 minutes.

To use, light the tip of an incense stick and then blow out the flame. Place the glowing stick in a suitable incense holder and use it on a fire-resistant surface.

Shukohkoku, Syukohkoku or Shu Koh Koku?

Japanese incense product names can be found in different romanisations. Tokusen Shukohkoku may therefore also be referred to as Tokusen Syukohkoku or Tokusen Shu Koh Koku. The name Excellent Shukohkoku is also used for this version.
