This traditional incense is produced on Mount Athos in Greece. It is made from high-quality frankincense resin from Boswellia papyrifera from Ethiopia, refined with a delicate Honey note. Mount Athos is an autonomous monastic republic in northern Greece and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. The peninsula is home to around twenty Orthodox monasteries, some of which still produce incense today according to traditional monastic recipes.
